Attention Teachers!

Just wanted to remind you that the library has a ton of books, videos, and DVDs about Easter, Spring, seeds, baby animals, and much more! We will be pulling books this week and putting some out for display. If you are planning on checking some out for your classroom do it soon. They are a hot item in March and April!
Thanks to Mary Kate Spoad (2nd grade) for her drawing "Spring" (above).

You are Never Too Old for Picture Books

Many picture books have been written with older elementary and young adults in mind. Peter Sis is an amazing author who has written and illustrated several picture books. He creatively weaves his text with the images on the page providing a multi-sensory experience.

Author Visits Red Apple!

We had been talking about it all year and he finally arrived. Hopefully everyone got a chance to hear Jarrett J. Krosoczka speak last week. He showed us the stories and drawings he created as a child. He told us how hard it was for him to get his first book published. Can you believe it took two years? But luckily he did get his book published because after that he wrote eight more stories that we all love. He read several of his books including Baghead, Punk Farm, and, my favorite, My Buddy Slug. All of his books are available at the library so don't miss your chance to read them all!

New Arrivals!

The library has just received a shipment of great books. There's books by Jon Scieszka, Jarrett J. Krosoczka , Spiderwick's Holly Black and much more! By the way, have you seen the new Spiderwick movie? Braden McDonald, third grade, says he loved it but the books are still better. We have the whole series so check out your copy soon!
